June 2016 Meeting

Here we are,  the year nearly half over.  Lots of new fabric and alot less finishes.   There is no group sew day this month, so I'll get right to it.

Here is a fabulous new bundle of kiddie quilts made by our Joyce for our hospital mission.

Somehow I got a pic of Margaret, appearing deep in prayer and smiling!  Her bobbin must still be full.

Oh my,  my memory gets shorter all the time.  I didn't remember who showed off this  GORGEOUS star quilt!!!  but in matching up the pants and shirt with another photo, I'm hedging a guess that it is Jan B's !

Now a final photo of our Indiana Bicentennial quilt, ready and waiting for our club long arm member

Jean was our program leader.  She showed us how to use the binding tool,

BUT,   THAT'S  NOT ALL !!!  She also showed off these projects made using the same tool and got everyone drooling over the projects.  We talked Jean into leading an upcoming sew day with instructions for the star quilt.  Everyone is now on the hunt to buy their own binding tool to make these projects.  Quilters  are  so easy!

Okay, I'm all caught up with the posts.   Let's get quilting !!

May 2016 Meeting & Sew-In

I begin with the pics from our May meeting.............  remember the one where we were still on a shopping high from our road trip????

Here is the batch of child comfort quilts from Joyce.  We are so good at keeping her occupied and out of trouble.

Here are 3 baby quilts that I made.  One was for my soon-to-arrive great nephew  and the other two were donated to our childrens hospital mission.

Margaret showed off her disappearing 4-patch quilt during our show and tell segment.  Sorry about the poor photography, Margaret;  but aren't those just the cutest feet???

No one gives me time to get a nice "posed' photo,  so I have to click fast.

Now on to our May sew-in day.  We used this day to work on the assembly of our Indiana Bicentennial quilt project.  There was much work to be done, so another day was scheduled the following Thursday to finish assembling the top.  It is measuring 61 x 82?   16 club members put their efforts into the making of this little piece of Huntington County history.

Lots of ladies hard at work

That's it for May.  I'm nearly caught up with the club photos.  .....  so excited.

April 2016 meeting pics

Here are the pics from our April meeting.  We did not have a sew day in April because we were busy with our annual quilt show  and  a Saturday shop hop.

Children's comfort quilts .........

These photos are more comfort quilts from Joyce.

Margaret's  TATW

Pres Jen  shared a demo on  machine back-basted applique
